Types of Community Sites
If you’re considering becoming a We Can!® site, there are three types from which to choose. Each has a different level of commitment: General Community Site, Intensive Community Site, or We Can! City/County. Each level also has unique requirements about programming and community events that must be completed within their first year. One thing that sites at all three levels have in common is that they commit to filling out and returning online activity forms about their activities to We Can!. Here’s a look at their other responsibilities, by type of site:
1. General Community Site
The site commits to completing any two of the following three activities in one year:
- One youth program/curriculum
- One parent program/curriculum
- One community outreach event
2. Intensive Community Site
The site commits to completing all of the following activities in one year:
- Three or more youth programs/curricula
- Three or more parent programs/curricula
- Three or more community outreach events
- Establishment of local partnerships to implement We Can! programs
- Promotion of We Can! activities to their local media
- Submission of an abstract of the year's We Can! activities for posting on the We Can! website
