The GCRFF Data Sharing Initiative brings together grant funding and publication data from most GCRFF partner funders to better understand the cardiovascular research funding landscape and identify opportunities for networking and collaboration.

The NHLBI makes its grant funding and publication data publicly available in the RePORT Expenditures and Results, RePORTER system. This electronic tool allows users to search a repository of intramural and extramural NIH-funded research projects from the past 25 years and access publications since 1985 and patents resulting from NIH funding. By sharing funding and publication data, NHLBI and the GCRFF are advancing cardiovascular research on an international scale.

In April of 2024, the GCRFF launched a data challenge that invited data experts to use the data provided by GCRFF members to answer the question, “How can the organizations that fund cardiovascular and stroke science most effectively fund research to drive discoveries and improve lives?”
