The GCRFF’s Women’s Cardiovascular Health Research Initiative is working to advance an international cardiovascular research agenda focused on addressing gender inequity and the cardiovascular health of women from all backgrounds. Through this initiative, the GCRFF aims to identify, develop, and collaboratively fund multinational research projects focused on advancing women’s cardiovascular health. It also seeks to lead global health efforts to improve research policies and practices, mobilize existing networks and leverage public and private investments into women’s cardiovascular health, and share knowledge and best practices among GCRFF members and the broader research community.
International Research Challenge
NHLBI is involved in GCRFF’s International Research Challenge on Women’s Cardiovascular Health, a multi-discipline, multi-institution, and multi-country challenge intended to develop a cohesive research program that will deliver an impact that no single institution or country could deliver alone. The challenge will fund one (1) international research program for up to $10 million over five years.
Applicants are invited to propose a research network program focused on advancing women’s cardiovascular health in areas that are under-researched and/or require greater understanding by submitting a required Letter of Intent (LOI) to the GCRFF by January 15, 2025. Within the LOI, research network teams must provide an overview of their proposed research program and international team to address an unmet need from an international perspective. The GCRFF will review all submissions and select up to six (6) LOIs to proceed to the full application stage.
