Have you been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)? Have you been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)? Many ICU patients experience profound sleep and circadian rhythm disruption. This study will test how light, feeding, mobility, and sleep may normalize circadian rhythms and improve sleep and metabolism. You may be able to participate if you are 18 years old or older. This study is recruiting in New Haven, Connecticut.

Do you often get less than 7 hours of sleep per night? Researchers are studying the eating habits of people who get less than 6.5 hours of sleep each night and how it affects their health. To join, you must be 18 to 45 years old and not have any chronic health conditions, like high blood pressure or diabetes. The study is taking place in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Are you currently enrolled in the Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal (RURAL) study and between the ages of 25 and 65? Are you currently enrolled in the Risk Underlying Rural Areas Longitudinal (RURAL) study and between the ages of 25 and 65? If so, you may be able to participate in a sub-study to help understand how sleep habits can contribute to heart health. This sub-study measures sleep apnea, sleep duration, timing, and regularity combined with questionnaire responses to assess insomnia, sleep quality, sleep-related impairment, and fatigue.

Does your child have overweight or obesity? This study is exploring the link between obesity and sleep deprivation in children. Researchers will test whether participants who do not get enough good quality sleep have trouble making healthy food choices. Participants in this study must be 8 to 12 years old and have overweight or obesity. This study takes place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Providence, Rhode Island.

Do you get less than 7 hours of sleep each day and take medicine for opioid use disorder (OUD)? This study is looking at how the brain systems that control sleep can affect medication-assisted treatment in people who have opioid use disorder. The study will test whether suvorexant can help improve sleep and reduce stress without interfering with treatments for OUD. To participate in this study, you must be 21 to 65 years old. This study takes place at various locations in Baltimore, Bel Air, and Elkton, Maryland.

Do you have mild sleep apnea, or do you just want to help research? This study aims to understand how mild sleep apnea and not getting enough sleep contribute to daytime sleepiness. The study will also test which of three different treatment programs is most effective at preventing daytime sleepiness. To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old.
