What materials are available as electronic only?
Some NHLBI publications may no longer be available in print but are available on the NHLBI website in electronic format, such as a PDF or HTML file. You can download these files from the Web and print them from your computer or mobile device.
How can I read mobi and epub files?
To view an ebook on your ereader device, select and download either the MOBI file (for Kindle devices), or the ePub file (for all other ereaders, the PC or MAC). To transfer a downloaded MOBI file to your Kindle device, you may email the file to your Kindle device's email address or transfer the file using a USB cable. Please refer to Amazon for specific instructions for your device. You may also use a USB cable to transfer a downloaded ePub file to your ereader device (please refer to your device instructions). To view the ePub file on a PC or MAC will require a third party ePub reader such as Adobe Digital Editions.
Why are there limits to how many publications I can order?
Limits are set to help ensure that the NHLBI can provide as many people as possible with printed materials and meet public health needs with its inventory and budget. The number of print copies available varies by item and may change depending on our supply at the time of the request. Electronic copies of NHLBI materials are available for downloading and printing on the NHLBI website.
How do I request quantities of materials beyond the order limit?
Requests for quantities greater than standard limits will be reviewed on an exception basis according to product availability and other considerations. You may contact us directly between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday (closed Federal holidays), by telephone at 1-877-NHLBI4U (1-877-645-2448) or email at nhlbiinfo@nhlbi.nih.gov.
Can I get a printer's file of a publication so I can print it myself?
We make press-quality PDFs available for many of our current titles. Upon request, we will provide you, free of charge, a press-quality PDF for commercial printing. Further permission is not needed to duplicate NHLBI materials.
Can I customize or cobrand NHLBI materials?
No changes should be made to the content of NHLBI materials that you distribute or reprint.
You can cobrand NHLBI materials by placing your organization’s name/logo next to the NHLBI logo prior to printing. Upon request, we will provide you with a press-quality PDF that can be cobranded by you or your print vendor.
