Description
June 14th is World Blood Donor Day!
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood for surgeries, cancer treatments, childbirth, anemia, and blood disorders, among other conditions. Although blood donations can save lives, only 3% of eligible Americans donate blood each year, and there are patients who need closely-matched blood to live.
Join the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Blood Diseases & Disorders Education Program, in partnership with the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) and the NIH Clinical Center for a conversation with experts about the importance of donating blood.
