Description
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood for surgeries, cancer treatments, childbirth, anemia, and blood disorders, among other conditions. Although blood donations can save lives, only 3% of eligible Americans donate blood each year, and there are patients who need closely-matched blood to live.
Join experts from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Blood Diseases & Disorders Education Program, the NIH’s Division of Transfusion Medicine, and the Association for the Advancement of Blood & Biotherapies (AABB) for a conversation about blood donation and patient transfusion.
