Description
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) will host a Sickle Cell Disease Forum on June 25-26, 2015 at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus in Bethesda, MD. The Forum is designed to bring together the sickle cell disease community—including patients and their families, advocates, health care professionals, researchers, community and professional organizations, policymakers, government agencies, industry, and the media—to help chart the future of sickle cell disease research.
Engaging panel sessions and discussions will focus on issues affecting those living with sickle cell disease, as well the potential role of various stakeholders in addressing these issues, including:
- Sickle Cell Disease Research: Past, Present, and Future
- Managing Sickle Cell Disease Pain
- Innovative Care Models
- Sickle Cell Disease Transitions
- Importance of Clinical Trials
Breakout sessions will discuss additional topics.
Forum participants can attend in person or stream the Forum live via webcast and participate in the discussion by asking questions and sharing their thoughts directly via social media. Mark your calendar now and don’t forget to tell your networks about the event!
